Comments on: BCR C40-8M 4613 with the SD40-2 740 and C44-9WL 4641 trailing, are at McNeil, as they leave the north end of Seton Lake on BCRs Squamish Sub. The train will arrive shortly in Lillooet as it makes it’s way into the north country, and the lake will empty into the Fraser River, and head for the coast. What was once a world class railroading experience is now a done dinner. Much missed :(

Thanks Brundle and yes, I remember hearing about that. If you google "BC Rail Seton Lake derailment" and then select Trainorders.com you'll find some background history there. The most interesting, an excerpt from J.F. Gardens British Columbia Railway. The book has an article describing the derailment with with photos of one of the salvaged units - MLW M630 #711. The 808, a c-425 was recovered and rebuilt as #800 in 1982.

Excellent Joe. This is the corner, I believe, that had a unit sitting at the bottom of the lake from a derailment.
