Comments on: Before VIA, the VIA CN was the marketing department of CN Passenger Service

Sporting unique VIA CN livery, FP9A 6540 also has the lower portion of the body length grill painted VIA blue.

Do not recall another VIA unit with the grill blue painted.

And that shade of blue seems lighter than the standard VIA blue we are all accustomed to…..

And the senior unit(s) present ?

   Those GMD 1951-53 built ONR FP7A’s: 1501 and 1521

   And the junior unit(s) present?

That is MLW 1970 built M636 2307 coupled to the nose of 6540

The reason for the 70′s super power: unknown, suspect the M636 may have been rescue power.

   Those MLW 1959 built FPA4′s: 6769 and 6781

at extreme right is MLW 1957 built S-7 8229

also present, but out of view: CN 1246, CN 6120, CN 8139, CN 3113

At CN Spadina, April 23, 1977 Kodachrome by S.Danko

And those big bank towers are older than you may think…..

Very interesting photo. Units 6504, 6505 and 6516 had yellow pilots as well. Also, units 6505 and 6622 had the blue extend into the grills. There may have been others.
