I have a fondness for the MLW’s, and CP’s C424′s in particular, which is in not short part due to not being a railroader and never having known the joy of working on them! I suppose they were even more fun as the end neared and maintenance became less of a priority.

Going through Thamesford enroute to London from Toronto ..the unit was leaking exhaust into the cab to the point hwere it was making us both sick.. In that regard,,being unpowered was deinitely an asset. That may well have been one of the last runs of 4236 before it ended up reconfigured as 1100.
