Comments on: Between First Line and the switch leading off to the Hamilton Sub. on the CP main between London and Toronto there used to be this little frog pond. Fed by a small stream, of which the culvert under the CP can be seen dead centre in this image. It made a nice photo location, but, alas, over the years silt has rendered this spot just a bit of a bog in the weeds. After falling on my (bleep) a couple of times and getting thoroughly soaked, I gave this location up. But there were some nice images to be had; such as this CP 4556, 4730 and 5014 early morning eastbound. Beautiful mornings like this, combined with interesting power, made for a great day to be trackside. April 18, 1979.

THANKS for your comments, Dougie. I like this image for the memories of getting in position to take it. Like most other contributors, I am sure the personal attachment to a particular image is the adventure of the day that led up to the image presented. Each photo I put up is chosen by the pleasant (or not so pleasant) times I had back when this sort of nonsense was what I looked forward to every spare moment. Now, it is all about lack of interesting trains and high prices of fuel to get to where I want to go. Plus, slipping in the mud isn't as funny anymore. :o(
