Comments on: Built in May 1948 at LaGrange (Illinois), two of CN’s earliest diesels lead an eastbound freight up the Halton sub in early 1970. According to the January 1970 UCRS Newsletter, units F3 units 9001-9004 were assigned to Fort Erie for maintenance and often used on trains 390-391 between Toronto Yard and White River Jct, Vermont.

While temporarily assigned to Ft Erie in early 1970, the 4 F3's were also utilized west of Toronto on all Sarnia, London/Windsor, and Ft Erie trains. Twice I personally saw the the 4 of them together (alone) in the dream formation of ABBA.
No photos, it was while working 3rd trick.
