Comments on: Bustling city streets? Maybe not mid-town Toronto in the 70′s: TTC PCC 4545 is surrounded by a valley of apartment buildings and office towers as it heads eastbound on St. Clair Avenue East after departing the nearby St. Clair Subway Station streetcar loop (near Yonge). The PCC is paused at Avoca Avenue, making the short trip to over to Mount Pleasant Avenue in order to head north for Eglinton Loop. The “Ryerson Bookstore” signage on the building to the left is likely for the “Ryerson Press” publisher, rather than the polytechnical college/university of the same name. The quiet streets and sun angle suggest a weekend evening photo setting. In the interest of furthering density, today a lot of older, smaller office towers like these are being torn down across Toronto for even taller and higher density buildings built on the same parcels of land.
