Comments on: Canadian National 4-8-4 “Northern” 6219 sits by the station at Niagara Falls, likely on a westbound passenger train from Toronto, as Lehigh Valley SW900 120 leads a cross-border transfer from the US into Canada. The unit has just crossed the Niagara Whirlpool bridge and is bound for CN’s Niagara Falls Yard to interchange traffic. CN 6219 was a U2g built by MLW in 1942, and ran out of Toronto area in the 1950′s until retirement, and was scrapped in April 1960. LV 120 was originally built as an EMD NW1 in 1937, but rebuilt by EMD in 1955 as an SW900. It lasted into the early Conrail era as CR 8647.
