<title>Comments on: Canadian National 4-8-4 Northern 6301 (U3a class, built by Alco in Schenectady for GTR but transferred to CN) is seen here at Mimico Roundhouse in 1956. It&#8217;s main driving rod appears to be removed, suggesting it may be undergoing maintenance or being set up for transport to a heavier shop such as Stratford. It wouldn&#8217;t be scrapped until 1960 and appeared to still be in pretty good shape, so wasn&#8217;t facing retirement just yet.Another view of 6301 at Clarkson Station a year later: http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=13305Lots of big steam on the ready tracks at Mimico: http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=15340Ontario Northland power at Mimico Roundhouse: http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=15146</title>
