Comments on: Canadian National Railways N-4-a, 2-8-0, 2525 makes its way eastbound through Bayview Junction with Hamilton – Toronto train 80 (based on sun angle), a daily except Sunday passenger train with Railway Post Office service. The train departed Hamilton at 0950 with stops at Burlington, Oakville, Clarkson, Sunnyside, arriving Toronto Union at 1110. CNR 2525, built by MLW in 1906 as Grand Trunk Railway D5 661, would be scrapped in November, 1961.In the background the old York Boulevard bridge can be seen.
It and the entire Bayview area can be seen here in this 1958 aerial image archive.
In great detail too I might add.Original Photographer Unknown, Al Chione Duplicate, Jacob Patterson Collection slide.

Jacob, very nice and interesting picture, very rare to see a CN 2-8-0 on a Toronto bound passenger train, most being powered in the ‘50’s by Northerns, Mountains and the odd Pacific. Now and again a 2-8-0 showed up on the daily train Hamilton-Georgetown- Allandale-Meaford substituting for D1-C1-C2. Thanks for posting, John
