Comments on: Canadian Pacific GP7u’s 1501 and 1508 along with GP9u 1578 are viewed pulling out another cut of cars that will be humped at Toronto Yard on a spring morning. This trio of yard goats were the regular assigned hump power at the time, along with other sets of GP9u’s.

Circa early 80′s, CP had rebuilt them (GP7′s first before the 9′s) and sent them out to various yards, including Toronto Yard to replace the 7400-series hump SW’s. Many of the same units stayed at their assigned terminals for years, becoming “regulars”.

1501 and 1508 were regularly on the hump sets then, however not long after they were freed and could be found assigned to Galt, Guelph Jct. and even Woodstock.
