<title>Comments on: Canadian Pacific&#8217;s Mount Forest station (left) and freight sheds (right, used by a local co-op) are pictured at the dead-end of CP&#8217;s Mount Forest Spur, a short 1.2 mile line branching north from the Mount Forest Wye at MP 33.1 CP Teeswater Sub. Visible on the far right is an interchange/transfer track that ran for 0.2 miles to connect with CN&#8217;s Owen Sound Sub at Mile 26. In the distance, another siding stopping short of the station was used for the stock pens. There were also engine servicing facilities here in the steam era, including a roundhouse and turntable.

The short Mount Forest Spur was originally built by the Toronto Grey &amp; Bruce Railway in the early 1870&#8242;s intending to run all the way to Owen Sound, but due to a lack of a subsidy from the county an alternate line was built to Owen Sound instead (the Owen Sound Sub from Orangeville to Owen Sound). The line to Mount Forest remained a short stub, and the Teeswater Sub from which it branched off ran through mostly rural countryside, suffering from low and declining traffic over the years until the line and its spurs were eventually abandoned in early 1988.</title>
