Comments on: Canadian Pacific’s Simcoe wayfreight rolls southbound along the former Lake Erie & Northern Railway, crossing the bridge over New York Central’s CASO mainline. The GMD SW8 was sold to Ogeechee Railroad of Georgia in 1989 as their 101, and is still operating today, once again wearing it’s original number.Scan and editing by Jacob Patterson.

I spent a brief period in the mid 1980s working in CP's London Yard at Quebec Street. For a time in the winter, we had engine 6707 as our power. The late Don Broadbear wasour Engineer & he took some great shots of this unit plowing heavy snow on a local industrial spur. We had a trainee Engineer & Don was able to exit the unit to take the pictures. Thanks for posting this shot & reminding me of those particular "good old" days.

I just noticed this image for the first time. Excuse me for that, I was on vacation. Nice to see the 6707....got to see it myself in Sylvania, Georgia last spring...but looking a lot more faded now. I had no idea it was down there.
This is a remarkable shot, John. It really is.
