Comments on: CN’s mid-day local 559 switches out hoppers at the Polar-Pak Distribution Center on Summerlea rd at just about lunch hour. This particular several hundred yard railway spur branches off of the Torbram Lead just after Clark BLVD and was named after the buisness a few hundred yards east of here ‘Country Malt Group-Toronto’ back when their building first opened in the 80s (as this spur ends at their building located at 8705 Torbram rd). Country Malt is one of the many long gone rail consumers on the Torbram Lead (as most buisness here prefer to rely on BIT when it comes to shipping by rail) but their spur still has some life left in it as 559 continues to make its once a week visit to Polar Pak which is only a few hundred yards away and at times (as seen in this picture here) freight cars still make it up to their building while 559 switches hoppers at Polar-Pak (there were a total of 7 freight cars on the spur to Country Malt on this day).

Hmmm very interesting info @Boxcarphilly about the signage and labels, thanks for sharing!

Best of luck to you with catching the Brampton Local L559 here yourself, every Wednesday is 559s day to do this particular 3ish mile industrial spur which branches off just west of Steels Ave and Bramalea GO, then goes directly parallel to Steels for a few blocks before taking a turn north to eventually wind up here in the Bramalea Buisness Park!
Polar Pak is one of the biggest customers here also, getting served every week on ‘hump-day ‘when 559 comes up and honestly, I personally don’t ever recall a Wednesday when 559 DID NOT switch them while I was here shooting them.

Looking on Google Street View, since there are two tracks that cross this street, there are the appropriate signs indicating this, but they are American style, meaning the word "TRACKS" is spelled out in English, instead of the track symbol in red & white like you see everywhere else. I, too, would love to catch these guys in action, hopefully this summer, and hopefully with my drone.
