Comments on: CN 1413′s train derailed crossing Dieppe Rd in North St. Catharines and in this photo we see workers arriving on location at the crossing and assessing the situation. We also see a Niagara police officer doing his nonchalant assessment as well, and I waited to see what activity was going to transpire here, while waiting for him to saunter up to me and tell me to clear out. He did. But he was very polite about it. This trackage is no longer, having been lifted quite a few years back. There was no more industry left in the city north of the Skyway Bridge (pictured)to service. A steel supply company just out of sight in this photo by Bunting Rd/Eastchester is now as far as this line goes.

Yeah, James, those gons are something I took for granted and then one day, like most other railroad stuff, I realize they are gone. Oh to have had digital back then and thus the means to photograph everything.........

One of the few rail/childhood memories I can recall is my dad telling me about this and showing me where it happened.

Witnessed a few trains in this area in the 80's growing up, but never saw one with a GMD-1. Great catch!
