Comments on: CN 148 curves through Brantford on the North Track with CN 2241 leading the train. During the summer CN ran a number of 148′s with read DPU’s resulting in trains such as this one. Working the yard on this day was CN 1439 as the other CN power in the yard was out of fuel.

Hey John, the CN units in Brantford are fuelled with a fuel truck that comes in whenever CN calls for it. I guess on this day the units were already out on the road when it came so they ended up running out of fuel!

Joseph, great picture ! Using a drone gives a totally new perspective of Branford’s grand railway station and the railway yard. The size , impressiveness and elegance of this station is most striking, and it’s even more impressive that it is still in daily use. Question, how does CN let a diesel to run out of fuel with the electronic tracking devices available ? And why is there no diesel fuel facility in Branford , or at least a stand-by fuel truck? Thanks for posting, John
