I have to say that I hadn't noticed that. I have checked other shots that I have of the trestle and have found one that shows that pole but has no wires running to it. I am curious so will now have to go and look.

So busy looking at the units on the bridge that I missed the nesting platform on top of the telephone pole. I bet it is an eagles nest. Out west of Edmonton the eagles like to nest in the metal framework of the big transmission towers at Wabamun Lake. Amazing that they don't mind the hum of the wires.

No doubt that the units are a safe load on the bridge. You do get the impression though that the timbers are holding up some pretty big weight. Nice photo Richard.
