When 570 was an exclusive Mac to Oshawa train it did have 6 axle power on it. The reason you see big power on 523/570 is that trains are longer and heavier these days. I had 11,000ft and 12,000 tons a few days ago on 523. The power is cycled from 523 and may end up on 120 or 383 that night. I have heard mixed reviwes about the rebuilt CP geeps. CN has no plans to rebuild the GP9 fleet again as it has a lot of GP38-2's to fill the low horsepower needs.
