I just found this photo.

At the time this was taken train 386 and 387 ran from Detroit to London and the road power would be used on 582 or 584 to st thomas usually in the morning to st thomas.

It is very possible road power would be on a london local then

At this time I was 10 years old. This brings back many memories. The shot I have of it is in the yard working solo on the opposite side of the yard to the main. That's what made me say yard power. Who knows back in those days.

At the time the photo was taken FPON was abundant in Southern Ontario on CN and commonly lead on CN freights. It was probably not being used as yard power when you saw it...it was probably making a lift from the yard before continuing on its way

I have a picture of this BNSF unit working London yard. I'm thinking it would have been the same day. Any idea why it would have been the lead unit and used as yard power?
