Comments on: CN 559 is making its once a week visit to the Bramalea Buisness Park in Brampton. In this scene 559 has paused just north of Clark BLVD as crew members on the other end are switching out hoppers at the Polar Pak business facility located just a block away on the east side of Summerlea Road (train was also tying up traffic on Summerlea). After this the train will make its way back to the CN mainline near Bramalea GO with 2 pit stops along the way to run the engines around near Walker dr and then switch out tank cars at Hubbert’s Processing and Sales located just before Bramalea GO on East dr. The building I managed to capture a glimpse of on the right hand side known as Oakley Industries is one of the many former rail consumers here. Back at the beginning of the decade 559 ran up here much more often to be able to give service to all the industries in Bramalea Business Park which most seem to have since switched to trucks.

Thank you Brad. Actually the power seems to always vary from 2-3 units now for both this job, the consumers as well as the local to the industry’s in peel village. Between 2016-2017 it was almost always a trio of geeps although I have seen this local with 20+ cars before when they only had 2 geeps so it seems to just vary for the most part. I’m sure the SW1200s would’ve been alright.

Vey nice! I just did up a track plan for the Consumers spur. Lots of power on this job and the Consumers one. Wonder why? Back in the day two SW1200's would have sufficed.

Thanks Curtis! I’ve been trying to hunt the local down that dose this area all summer and I’m glad stars aligned for me! Only local that runs in Brampton now is 559 and their schedule seems to vary quite a bit nowadays but I was told yesterday by the crew that they do this lead every Wednesday. Best bet with the Consumers Glass lead is Tuesday and Friday and I haven’t paid too much attention to the Peel Village Industrial Lead but I’d say Monday and Thursday. The local to Textile Rubber and Chemicals on the Brampton Industrial Lead is very infrequent so it’ll be a tuff one. Best bet there is too keep an ear out on the scanner on Tuesdays and Fridays when 559 is working the glass lead or talk to the crew if you get a chance.
