Comments on: CN 61082 is an Engineering Dept. BK&D (bunk, kitchen & diner).
This 1921 Pullman built car started life as CN 1713 Makura, a Class PS-73-P, 73 foot 6 inch sleeping car. It was converted from a sleeper to Engineering MoW service in July 1961.
I captured this scene while working in the yard at Hornepayne, ON in the summer of 1976.

Back in the 60's, every work train had two or three of these highly modified repurposed old passenger cars. Great photo, thanks for posting.
