Comments on: CN leased a bunch of units to the L&N railway in the mid-1970s. This is condition of GP40 4011 when it was returned to CN. It also explains why it was never renumbered.

The terms of the lease stated we had to return the unit when we were done with it: we’re done with it!!!!! It doesn’t work any more.
