Comments on: CN RS18 3855 leads two leased Bessemer & Lake Erie F-units on a freight heading over the Cooksville Creek bridge around Mile 11.8, to the west of “Lakeview” on CN’s Oakville Sub. CN had a number of B&LE 700-series F7A’s and F7B’s on lease in the mid-60′s, as did CP.The Lakeview mileboard/station name sign was to the east of here at Mile 11.1. The area had a few sidings to a Department of National Defense facility off Cawthra & Atwater, as well as a long spur to the Ontario Hydro/HEPC Lakeview Generation Station. I was in there in the 1980's picking some Customs forms and I recall there were a number of tracks inside. wonder if had been the storage facility for the nearby Small Arms factory and the Gunnery range.
