Comments on: CN train 435 has a GE built ES and T4 in charge of the days train to London. Urban sprawl is taking over here in Milton with new residential developments popping up all across the town. The tall cranes in the background mark the site of the expanding hospital, and the Niagara escarpment can be seen in the distance.

@Wayne, well I am not sure if they "allowed"ththe urban sprawl to happen. s they say its hard to fight city hall. Progress is hard to stop. The only one I can blame is the builders as they would have known that the land so close to them was owned by CN and would be developed at some point.
I can't say an intermodal yard would be welcome as I have seen how bad thigs are traffic wise and pollution wise at BIT. Its a nightmare. If I was a resident I would moves ASAP.

"The residents are more than upset. Well goodie for them. They allowed their once quiet little town to morph into the love-child of Mississauga and the Devil, a place to be avoided at all costs and especially if you're trying to get somewhere in a reasonable amount of time. I should think an intermodal facility would be the least of their problems. I for one am looking forward to it's construction. It might even help slow the sprawl from creeping further south into the farmlands.

I know the bridge you are standing on. Nice shot. Urban sprawl has seen nothing yet. Everything west on the bridge on the north side is where CN's new intermodal yard will be built. The residents are more than upset. They had protests on that bridge :-)
