Comments on: CN U2g Northern 6224 (build by MLW in 1942, scrapped 1960) is flying white flags up front as it leads a westbound extra through Port Credit in 1956. Visible at the head-end right behind the tender is one of CN’s steel ice reefers, bearing the CN maple leaf and wafer logo that once adorned much of CN’s freight car fleet until the “noodle” logo of the early 60′s was introduced as its replacement.

Note, geotagged location not exact.

These Northerns were truly beautiful and functional in design. Sorry so many were lost. Grateful for the few that remain.
