Arnold and others: To 99.9 percent of the world railways mean nothing, unless perhaps they might utilize GO Transit on their morning commute, beyond that nil. Which means we whose interest in same, labels us as fossils and getting older. Some day we too will be nothing and what then of our history dreams and images?

Soil on old rights of way, is to erasethe past;
the soil arrived not by the wind or the glaciers rather by nechanical rubber tired monsters belching black exhaust and pollution. Sure our trains in the steam and early diesel era did so as well however pollution was not part of our conversation, now it is and notice there are no trains...

Bryce, I was along there just yesterday and where the old mainline used to cross Hwy 3 on the east side hundreds of loads of fill have been dumped; no sign whatsoever the railroad was ever there. Looking west one can still see where the old line once was though. But it is barren. At least we are in a bit better shape than the old railroad.

That area looks so much like a wasteland now.As in so many places, it is hard to believe it once was a busy location, and experiencing it was so exciting for the fans........
