Comments on: CNR U-1-a Mountain 6003 is southbound along the Huntsville Sub (Gravenhurst – Nipissing Jct./North Bay) near the cottage community of Lake Bernard. Despite five passenger trains each way almost daily, Lake Bernard would only be served by trains 41 (north/westbound) and 44 (south/eastbound) during the summer months as a flag stop. The 1956 season saw service from June 9 to September 8. Based on the sun angle this appears to be Saturday only train 56 which operated during the summer months from June 30 – September 1, 1956, departing the town of Sundridge – six miles north – at 0927h.
