Comments on: Companies along this road have come and gone so frequently it has been hard for me to keep track of them all. I recall Stelpipe the most; at this location on 615 Rusholme Rd in Welland that utilized a switcher is conveniently numbered ’615′. This was the former Stelco 53, an 80 tonner that has also worked for Martech at this same location. I’m guessing it was around 2008 that Universal Resource Recovery set up shop here, and existed until June 2011 when they voluntarily closed up. URR was a”green bin” waste recovery outfit that was taking waste from landfills and recycling it. It was an indoor composting operation. Decent idea for the times. But oh, the stink!!! Neighbours complained aggressively; filed their complaints over the fact they could not endure sitting outside their homes most days, especially hot ones……and the situation went to court. However, a $250,000 fine was not leveled until almost 2 years after the company had folded up and left. Now what?
This same locomotive toiled for Martech Industrial when it took over the location to do railcar repairs; and is still on site for current tenant K&K demolition company which is scrapping old CN locomotives. However, this is the only time I recall seeing the switcher with that Universal decal on the sides……as seen here out by Hwy 140.

Oh wow, neat to see Universal on there. Man, this thing sure changes hands.

I have been led to believe Trillium (Gio, or whatever they're called now) actually own it now. Using it to make moves for K&K and shuffling pipe loads and empties between Welded Tube and CN Southern Yard.
