Comments on: CP 2292 with CP 2261 and UP 8594 roll through Guelph Junction eastward towards Toronto. A very interesting choice of power on todays CP 240 as the lead two GP20C-ECO’s have been the power for T69 for a few weeks. The manual switch stand at the left will soon be a thing of the past as well as the “Ham 1″ track connection as they are not included in the Guelph Junction upgrade to the Hamilton Sub. The “Ham 2″ has already been bypassed.

They are rerouting the whole bend and removing the switch and all access to 'Ham 1". Track speed will be 25mph through this area. The switch from Hamilton to the Galt eastbound and westbound will be RTC controlled instead of manually done by conductors.

You mean they are just removing these connecting tracks to get rid of the switches?

Nice shot! I got him in Streetsville. I see new signals going up on the Hamilton sub. At the junction as well.
