Comments on: CP 5626, CP 5703, CP 5590, CP 1103 and CP 6043 lead a southbound train climbing the Niagara escarpment at Vinemount on a beautiful sunny but bitterly cold day. Always a favourite photo of mine, and notable as it was the last day I saw Reg Button before he passed away. I was in a hurry to get here for the shot so I didn’t stop to talk to him at Kinnear but at least I got to wave goodbye.

Great photo! It’s interesting you also caught a control cab set in the lash up. I did the exact same thing at the same spot that summer.

Checking my photos from 2001 it seems I stuck to my travels and didn't know about hotspots like Bayview yet. By the time I started going there in 2002, everyone was telling me about Reg Button... and his legend grew on me - and it keeps growing.

A great shot and a great memory. Maybe some day we'll have a Reg Button shot of this train to look at.
