Comments on: CP 9761 leads a westbound coal train through the sprayers at Carlin. The chemical foam applied is of course for dust suppression, and this location was chosen as roughly midway between Alberta point of origin and the ports of Vancouver.

This winter has been bad for freeze up, the crew try to reset it when it is not working just to get a error in return which means a call to RTC to report that it is not working. What happens is the spray nozzle freezes, maybe a little more design tweaking .Greg

The weather looks beautiful, nice and warm. A great day to catch a photo of this operation. This must be a summer only procedure. But I would think that the cars will still make dust in the winter time. Maybe the coal freezes enough that it doesn't need a spray. Thanks Richard. :-)
