Comments on: CP FP7 1420 and FP9 1406 lead train #732, stopped at CN’s Sunnyside Station in 1956. At the time, you could park right beside the then-newly opened Gardiner Expressway. CP Train #726 (later renumbered as train #326 by 1959) was one of the daily passenger trains CP operated between Hamilton and Toronto, departing the TH&B’s Hamilton Station and running over the Hamilton Sub to Hamilton Junction, before operating via running rights over CN’s Oakville Sub east to Toronto’s Union Station.

Timetables show the train was scheduled to depart Hamilton at 2:10pm, stop at Sunnyside at 2:59pm, and arrive at Union at 3:10pm (with a flag stop at Oakville at 2:36pm if required).

Great shot. The EL baggage car is a great example of how head-end cars went all over the place in express or bulk mail service.
