Comments on: CP GP20C-ECO 2270, GP38-2 3113 and GP20C-ECO 2263 are seen on the Ayr Pit Spur in Ayr, Ontario during a late winter afternoon. The trio had reversed down to the FS Partners/Growmark facilities to lift several awaiting hoppers cars. However, upon arrival they found an unmanned track mobile blocking the hoppers. So with nobody there to move the track mobile they retreated light power back up to the Galt Subdivision and to their home base at the Wolverton yard.

for whatever reason I've had good luck with getting them switching the spur over the years. But yes it is very hit or miss though depending on the season. The plaza they have built there isn't all bad as it can now give some elevation for photos near the crossing.

Seen a train here twice. Once got a hot tip about it happening and went straight there, with a gp9 leading to boot. They were just finishing too - was in 11/2013.

But be careful, I've driven in for shots, only to be told to leave (half the time). the other half I got my shots and left. The elevators are private property. The public crossings are fine of course.

This is a location that is on my list of things I'd like to catch, but I am seldom in the area. Almost got it one day but the crew outlawed before they had a chance to get here.
