Comments on: CP only had about 6 weeks left operating in downtown Niagara Falls when this photo was taken. The mainline was then pulled up for a casino and the CP reverted to crossing into the USA at Fort Erie’s International Bridge. The connecting track between the CP and the CN yard that ran along Park St was a favourite location of mine. However, it was hit and miss to catch any activity on it. This day, I got lucky. Here is CP 8221 returning to Montrose from the CN, as indicated by the sign, crossing Crysler at Park St. The 8221 was retired in 2013.

Thanks. Oh yeah, something is going to happen with that railroad slicing thru the middle of the city. CN almost likes to tie things up with their excessively long and slow trains. And get that mayor in knots. Grab your shots when you can. The biggest mistake we make is thinking the future is a long way off. IT ISN'T.

Great shot. If I was born just a little earlier I would've been able to remember these trains. I admire your shots so much AW Mooney and your what inspires me to keep fanning the Niagara Area. As at the current rate, Who knows what could happen to the Stamford sub. Especially with our mayor pushing for the tracks to be moved away from the City. Yet he still wants GO Transit and the remaining Maple Leafs into Niagara Falls. Confusing man i'd say.
