Comments on: CP’s 1821 looks rather spiffy sitting in the sun outside the old CP roundhouse, which was located near Lorne St and Brady; n/w of the downtown Sudbury core. The RS-18u was retired by 1998 and ended up on the New Brunswick East Coast along with many others of that series. The roundhouse burned down quite a few years ago, maybe 20 years, but I could not locate an article regarding its’ demise. Perhaps a viewer will fill us in. Thanks.

I cannot recall the track plan up there. All I remember is driving in on a long lane off of Brady St at Lorne; the diesel facilities were in there. If you “sat in the cab” of 1821 you would see at “11 o’clock” the Sudbury water tower. Behind the roundhouse was Lorne St.
