Barnes (now Opta Minerals) stopped using rail service in late 2017 or early 2018.

Also according to satellite maps the north switch has been removed from the siding. South switch remains.

Thanks for another piece of railway history captured by your camera John. To clarify, this was a road assignment advertised to crews as “pickup service on the Goderich Subdivision”. The job usually ran south to Waterdown North 3 days a week & north to Goderich & return 2 days a week. I don’t think they worked Saturdays, at least not very often. The south trips made for short days & the northbound run to Goderich & back resulted in long days. This job replaced the assignment(s) that used to run from Aberdeen Yard in Hamilton to Goderich.
