Comments on: Cruising around in my brand new 1973 Plymouth Duster I stopped in at the CP/TH&B Aberdeen Yard and caught this ‘newer’ CP steel caboose sitting by itself at the entrance to the yard. The switch points are well oiled and the weed killer is starting to take affect on these ballast free yard tracks.

There’s a possibilty that this was off an Aberdeen Turn out of London & the crew was taking rest in it. The blinds are down on the end of the van with bunks, and back in 1974, we were still using vans rather than hotels if we took rest at Aberdeen.

I believe these particular vans were manufactured at CP’s Montreal shops in the early 70′s. I think the electric marker lights were still a few years away.
