Comments on: CSX train R320 with CSX GP38 2012 and CSX SD40-2 8060 with C&O caboose #904121 are paused by
the iconic former CASO station in St. Thomas during the city’s railway day’s event in August 1993. This train had just met CSX R321 with CSX C40-8W’s 7737 and 7694 with C&O caboose 904125, much to the delight of those attending the nearby railway day’s festivities.

Thanks for the additional information.

At the time, was Blenheim serviced by CSX out of Chatham or Fargo?

LOL, in one respect, they were !

The traffic was left in the east end of Fargo, to accumulate until the Monday morning when R320 would bring it all into St Thomas and then they'd run him east using the additional engines also brought in.
Kind of an "early Precision Railroading" type of scenario.

@mercer-Thank you very much for the additional information on the CSX operations at the time. Yes it was a Sunday and both units did layover in St. Thomas for the duration of the day. In fact, some attendees at the Railway Day's event thought the CSX units were part of the display as well.

Your photo date would indicate this was a Sunday.
Hence R320 would tie up here and not go to Buffalo. By this timeframe it was only M-W-F operation over the ' east end '.
And since R321 had returned from Buffalo the day previous, then R321 this day would simply leave St Thomas ' cab hop' to Fargo, where he would pickup all the traffic off the North end and continue to Windsor, and Detroit.

Thanks Steve. Yes both trains were caboose hops. I believe I did get a meet shot or two of them by the station.
