Comments on: CSX’s “Trains Magazine’s All American Diesel” #2002 (formerly B&O 3802) leads the southbound local from Sarnia to Fargo on Christmas Eve day 1989. With a nice mix of Chessie, CSX, and B&O for color, it was nice to catch this guy coming through town with the autorack buffer and the unmistakable Sarnia traffic behind it. Eventhough this is “C&O country”, all the units on the train today are of B&O heritage.

Bzzzt - the 2125 was C&O 4825.
C'mon man, you knew that !

The southeast connecting track at Fargo diamond probably hadn't seen a wheel since 1985, or sooner.

At Fargo they would swing west on the CN connection and shove east. If they were making a lift to go north, they'd run east and shove out the siding heading west to clear the CN connection to go north. Never saw the old S/E connection used for anything but MOW equipment.

Geoff, did you ever follow them to Fargo? Did they run clear of the diamond at Fargo and shove into the interchange east of the diamond? Curious how this operation worked before they switched to I/C to Chatham Yard before the end.

Nice shot, thanks for sharing.
