Comments on: Daily CN #333, Toronto to Buffalo’s Frontier Yd, passes the old Merritton CN station late afternoon with CN 9645, GT 5930 and CN 5354 up front. Yes, it is a yellow GT; formerly of Union Pacific by the look of it. The Merritton station was destroyed by fire on October 23, 1994, a fate also suffered by Winona, Thorold and Grimsby that I can recall. No doubt there were more……..

I don’t know which is sadder, the looks of the old Merritton train station, or the sight of the weeds growing up amongst that set of tracks in the foreground.

I used to love shooting old stations, too bad this one disappeared before I was taking photos. Same with Grimsby’s station, what a shame!
