Comments on: Daily CN #333, Toronto to Buffalo’s Frontier Yd, passes the old Merritton CN station late afternoon with CN 9645, GT 5930 and CN 5354 up front. Yes, it is a yellow GT; formerly of Union Pacific by the look of it. The Merritton station was destroyed by fire on October 23, 1994, a fate also suffered by Winona, Thorold and Grimsby that I can recall. No doubt there were more……..

I don't know which is sadder, the looks of the old Merritton train station, or the sight of the weeds growing up amongst that set of tracks in the foreground.

This is another station that I wished I'd been able to see. Thanks, once again, for having the foresight to get pictures of so many of these buildings.

I used to love shooting old stations, too bad this one disappeared before I was taking photos. Same with Grimsby's station, what a shame!
