Comments on: Drive by the old CP station in Lethbridge and the surroundings look nothing like this. Fortunately the structure was deemed ‘Heritage’ in 1987, and it has lived on as the Lethbridge Community Health Centre for the past 3 decades. The mainline was pulled up and moved north out of the downtown area in 1984. The former yard was relocated east to Coalhurst and a shopping mall occupies the spot. This beautiful station, built in 1905/06 came into prominence as a division point back around when the town used to be called Coalbanks. Over the years a considerable amount of CP traffic was coal from the west out of the Crowsnest Pass area. In keeping with the station’s railroad theme, an old steam engine, the MLW 3651, a 2-8-0, is on display there.

The red Ford I owned (1967 Fairlane) almost like the one in the picture, had been worn out by this time. I did not replicate this photo in my latest trip because I forgot I had this image. Posting to RP has resulted in me digging up all kinds of photos I had forgotten I had taken.

Nice red Ford in the picture. Did you park yours out of sight?
Were you able to replicate this picture when you were out there last year?
