Comments on: During the last week of regular streetcar operation on Mount Pleasant Avenue, TTC A8-class PCC 4527 heads northbound on the Mount Pleasant route, approaching Eglinton Avenue and the route’s northern terminus at Eglinton Loop. It’s Thursday July 22nd 1976, and after the curtain falls on streetcar operation the route would switch to trolleybus operation as the Route 74 a year later (diesel shuttle buses would run for an interim period during a bridge reconstruction along the route, that was part of the decision to end streetcar service). The last streetcar to run along Mount Pleasant would be a Sunday Peter Witt charter a few days later. The 4500-series A8′s were the newest cars on the system (built 1951) and based out of Wychwood (St. Clair) carhouse, which operated the Mount Pleasant route as well as others including St. Clair.

Agreed! To me the most interesting vehicle is the blue Pontiac rag top to the left of 4527.

Unfortunately my vintage automotive knowledge isn't what it should be, but today it'd be full of Kias, Hyundais, Toyotas and some Ford F150's - a far cry from the days when the Big Three ruled. :)

Looks like an Impala or two near the rear (or something GM with that rectangular front end), and a red Toyota Corolla behind the streetcar?

Wow! What a selection of Detroit Iron! I think I only see one future transplant constructed interloper behind 4527. Can anyone name all of the models/brands? BTW, the Mustang II directly behind 4527 is a poor excuse for a Mustang!
