<title>Comments on: Engine 1531 has been getting some cosmetic restoration work done. Previously it was displayed on the Barrie waterfront adjacent to the Newmarket sub. It was moved here to permit road and watermain work to be done along the lakeshore. The smokestack was removed during the move. The relocation was intended to be temporary but ownership was eventually transferred to the museum. The city paid for asbestos removal which required removal of the boiler jacketing and the engine had been looking rough for a while. Apparently all of the parts which were removed are safely stored.</title>
