<title>Comments on: Exiting the normally freight only CN York Sub., VIA 42 slowing to 30 mph through the turnouts at CN Liverpool mile 1.4 York Subdivision

Track and maintenance and signal work required Sept 23 (&amp; 24) rerouting all VIA east service (&amp; cancelled of all GO east service)

Officially train #42, this J train replaced trains 52, 62, 40, 44, 64.

VIA #42 at CN Liverpool 13:36 September 23, 2023, digital by S.Danko

Interesting:

Scheduled out of Union at 11:32 train #42 required 61 minutes to reach Liverpool mile 313 Kingston Subdivision

VIA&#8217;s estimated extra run time is 45 minutes. Normal VIA Union to Oshawa run time is 38 minutes.

Normal Saturday service is 12 eastbounds (to Ottawa &amp; or Montreal)

The only eastbound service Sept 23 / 24: trains 60, 42, 66, 68, 668 and presumably all J trains.

VIA #42 consist: 914 – seven LRC – 904 – four LRC &#8211; 6437</title>
