Comments on: Extra CN 603 West is about to duck under the Liverpool Road overpass and take the switch onto the York Sub with a pair of new GO Transit GP40TCs on the point. The eight GMD units were broken in hauling CN freight trains over the course of a few months. The units would have their paintjobs modified to official GO Transit colours>/a> by April 1967 for final equipment testing before the start of service on Tuesday, May 23, 1967. The original two head low (dwarf) signal governing westward movement on the York Sub. can be seen to the left on the Engineman’s side of the CN 603. This low signal was later replaced with a three head signal mounted on the bridge structure and identified as Signal 013.
