Comments on: Fall colours in full swing at the end of September in Northern Ontario. It is a beautiful scene as ONR 1731 and 1735 power a train southward on their way from Cochrane to Englehart.
The 1735 is still rolling over the ONR, but 1731 was sold in 2005. Speeder houses and other various outbuildings on the bottom right of the photo have all been removed.

I can confirm that the station is gone. Now they need a new "facility" to serve the passengers for the new northern Ontario passenger service (assuming it actually happens!).

Oh, you're forgiven, m'lad. Glad you enjoy the photos.
Swastika "station" as we call it should be demolished by now. I heard the word was out that it was expendable sometime this past spring.
No doubt it was well documented by the fans, but still; it is now just another hole in our railranning landscape.
Northern Ontario in the fall can be dazzling. All that yellow...just like Colorado. :o)

Woooops ! Mr. Mooney, please forgive me !! Of course this is your talent at work. When you get to my age, it is SO easy to mix up names. Not to take away from Ryan’s photo taking talent, both his and your pictures are wonderful reminders of ONR railroading and the picturesque northern Ontario landscape. Both keep well,

Ryan, a wonderful picture with the beautiful fall colours and the fascinating “box” railway station. Is that structure still there ? Now if Ford & Mulroney only get in gear and quickly restore passenger service like they grandly announced, then I could take the train to Swastika, enjoy the fall colours and take in some wonderful local history !
Thanks so much for posting, John

Thats a stunning shot of yours, Ryan. I have never tried from that side, but rather that little rock pile and tree by the signal where I grabbed this.

Absolutely gorgeous photo, Arnold! 22 years (minus a day) from when you shot this great image, I took one from the exact same location, albeit from the other side of where you were standing: https://www.flickr.com/photos/ryanjgaynor/50398955178/in/dateposted-family/

Aside from the paint on the locomotives and the M.O.W sheds, its remarkable how little has changed since then!
