Comments on: For a few years I made the effort to go out mainly for the fall and winter “Credit Valley Explorer” trains. It was hard to take a bad photo on most of the line with its scenery and deep history. Definitely one of the lines in Southern Ontario I miss the most today. One by one the branchlines that connected to the subdivision vanished into history and freight traffic went on a steady decline well after passenger service ended. Cando did what it could to satisfy the customers that remained but in the end it wasn’t enough. The tour trains on the other hand were a huge success often selling out. But when Orangeville lost interest in the line nothing could save it and today the line is abandoned but still mostly intact. I always tried to get shots of the large Forks of the Credit bridge but it wasn’t an easy task. Limited parking and tight angles didn’t help but this day lucky timing prevailed. The passing tour train catches the eye of a fuel truck driver filling a local home as the veteran GP9 rolls across the bridge.
