Comments on: For those who like the “big Blue”, it still seems amazing this road has been gone for 20 years already. Back in the day, Conrail power was a frequent visitor to Fort Erie, having run traffic to and from the USA on an almost daily basis. Here is a nice lashup: CR 9573, 7938, 7936 and 7524, as seen ready to roll back to the USA.
The old Central Av bridge in Fort Erie is just barely visible over the auto rack.

I love how Conrail would just couple up whatever locomotives were laying around yards to run transfers and extras.

Interesting choice of units bookending the GP38s. The Geep 9 would have led long nose forward into Canada and a SW1500? leading back to the States. I miss the blue but we have the CN leased GATX units to make up for it. :)

What a coincidence. Just watched an Xmas movie where Conrail units kept passing through the town. Now another big string here when I come up stairs. The magic of Christmas. Heh heh. :-)
