Comments on: Forty years ago, on the weekend of August 8th and 9th, 1981, VIA ran a series test trains with the new, not yet in service (?) LRC equipment. The trains operated between Toronto and possibly Belleville (I’m not certain). Notice the white classification lights are lit. The location is a guess, somewhere between Guildwood and Pickering.

Thanks for the comments. Yes, it was jointed rail back then, but the rail length was 78 feet, a first step toward ribbon rail.
