Comments on: Fredericton Jct is located about 30 miles S of Fredericton, the capital of New Brunswick. It is but a village of about 700 souls, but once was a major player in the history of the province. As well, it was the junction of the European and North American Railway (Vanceboro, Maine to St. John, NB), and the Fredericton Branch Rwy, which ran from the Jct to the Capital. This old station is still there, although in abbreviated form, car port gone, water tower and signal tower gone, and painted up green for the New Brunswick Southern.

So amusing. Well, there was nothing “special” about my trip. I had been to PEI and was taking more than a week to get home on what for most people is a 2 day drive. Stopped in town here at an antique shop looking for some old license plates for my wall. Got none, but did get a wooden highway sign. ) There sure were no gas electrics by the time I was on the prowl. Long gone by then. Great story!!

Arnold, you sure got around ! Nine years earlier, on May 29, 1958, I arrived at this station, detraining from eb CPR Atlantic Limited which I had boarded at McAdam, to catch gas electric 9003 to Fredericton, and then by mixed train to Chipman NB to photograph CPR 4-4-0’s 29, 136 & 144. Now, what were you doing in Fredericton Jct in Sep 1977 ? John
