Comments on: From a personal standpoint I cannot believe it has been 18 years since I took this picture. Or worse, that long since I spent a fair amount of time foraging around this area. Time goes so fast !!! It is April, but there is still snow hanging around; I remember that year there was one heck of a lot of it. I am standing on a snowbank at the south end of the community where excess snow was piled up. This Grain Train from the west is powered by CP 5951, HLCX 6211, SOO 769, CP 5648, and CP 752. I will note locomotives in this consist now retired, as the CTG shows the leader only one still active. (don’t know about the HLCX) The preserved station is barely visible at the curve in the distant background; Cartier yard can be seen on the right. Also out of sight on the right is 90% of the community, connected to the rest of the world solely by Spencer Av crossing; of which the first revenue car in the train is rolling over in the photo.

Thanks for this, J.J. Checking my notes, I see I got it as MILW in Bearmuth, Montana in the ’70s, but never saw it as SOO nor DME. Yer a good scout.

6211′s lineage traces back as this: Built as MILW 194, then became SOO 6384 to DME 6384 before becoming HLCX 6211

Thanks, Jazzy Joe. But what I really wondered was what it was pre-HLCX. I know what it LOOKS like it was; but there is currently a 6211 ICE in the CTG. DM&E ?? I was told ‘No’.

HLCX 6211 is now ITSX 6211, painted grey and belongs to In-Terminal Services which is a company that does intermodal terminal services.
